MONTHLY Job Duties

    • Create and distribute monthly newsletters to ISCA membership with pertinent organizational announcements

QUARTERLY JOB DUTIES

  • Create and distribute 4 quarterly Exaggerated Features digital publications featuring a minimum of 8-10 articles (4 newly created) which may include, but are not limited to:
    • Features, articles, interviews, op-eds, columns and how-to’s
    • ISCA event recaps
    • Non-ISCA caricature-related event recaps
    • Editing and posting of ISCAcon panel and speaker videos
  • Work directly with the Education & Engagement Committee to create new content and/or source archival content in time for quarterly Exaggerated Features publication (with a bank/reservoir of at least 2 quarters’ worth of content)
  • Manage updates to the Exaggerated Features Digital Catalog, which include the following ISCA-owned assets:
    • Exaggerated Features Blog
    • ISCA YouTube channel 
    • ISCAWiki
  • Design, curate, and edit content for the Annual Compendium, ready for proofing by the Board of Directors each quarter (specific dates to be agreed upon)
  • Report to the President each quarter on the status of the publications, content creation, content archiving, and other related duties.

ANNUAL JOB DUTIES

  • Create and maintain an Editorial Calendar to proof, track and deliver content for both quarterly and annual publications over the course of the year.
  • Design, curate & edit the printed Annual Compendium to be delivered as follows:
    • Layout sent quarterly to the Board of Directors for proofing and approval (specific dates to be agreed upon);
    • Final version to be sent no later than September 30th for approval by Board of Directors;
    • Order for print publication sent to the printer by the first week of October to ensure timely delivery for the annual ISCAcon without incurring expedited shipping costs.
  • Actively participate in Education & Engagement committee meetings and chats.
  • Communicate a complete anticipated annual budget, including print & shipping logistics with the Executive Director by December 31.
  • Maintain job-related SOPs for this role.
  • Maintain up-to-date files within the ISCA shared drive of all work completed for this role.

Required Qualifications

    • Experience working with commercial printers.

    • Experience with design and working with web authoring software such as Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Google Suite, Word and social media (primarily Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube). 

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills to include proofreading, spelling, and grammar on video chats, phone, email, and face-to face.

    • Self-motivated and proven ability to work independently.

    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

    • Motivated to learn new skills as needed to fulfill the requirements of this role.

    • Successful problem solving and decision making skills.

    • Excellent organizational skills, to include multi-tasking and time management.

    • Ability to communicate and interact professionally with members, staff and board.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of caricature and experience in the caricature community.
  • Experience providing prepress and production help to create print-ready files per the commercial printer's specifications.
  • Knowledge of software systems such as Wild Apricot, Discord, Canva.
  • Experience in video editing, including sound balancing/editing.
