Steve Dorris is a freelance artist living in Portland, Oregon where he has worked since 1994, following a two year college program. Steve’s only formal training was majoring in Commercial Art and Advertising at Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX. Since July of 2001 Steve has become a full-time artist with clients ranging from Classic Reel Entertainment (a DVD production company) to local radio stations and party planners. His first DVD cover art was for Home Movies starring Kirk Douglas (see Amazon.com). He participates in local festivals and donates a good portion to the sponsoring charities, such as Oregon Food Bank and Special Olympics.
Steve specializes in drawing live at festivals, corporate and private events, and graduation parties. Steve averages 10-12 black & white full body/theme drawings per hour. To accommodate parties with many guests and limited time he has developed a series of detailed pre-drawn bodies/themes that clients can choose from so he only needs to add the head.
