Dan lives minutes away from Dayton, Ohio. His business, Dan's Portraits
and Caricatures, was established in 2000 upon his retirement from the
U.S. Air Force.
Although Dan spent a couple of years at a university in southern
Louisiana as an Applied Arts major prior to joining the Service, he
considers himself "self-taught".
While stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany, Dan drew several humorous
illustrations for a Bundesbank branch in Frankfurt. He was commissioned
to draw caricatures of politicians and a portrait of an ambassador to
Grand Forks AFB while stationed in North Dakota. After moving to Ohio,
Dan was commissioned to draw caricatures for one of 6 decks of the Bush
League All-stars 2004 playing cards.
Since 1999, Dan has been a member of the National Caricaturist Network.
In addition to Dan's studio work, he draws live caricatures at parties,
festivals, and corporate events. Some
of the places Dan has done work for include: the Marriott Hotel, Design
Forum LLC, University of Dayton, the University of Columbus, Wright
Patterson AFB, and Cassano's Inc.
