Like many people, I loved to draw and paint as a child, but I dropped this activity when other interests arose. After discovering myself to be a hack as a musician and eventually taking a degree in an unrelated (technical) field that did not provide me with a great deal of satisfaction, I set about (re)discovering myself as an artist. I enrolled in university adult education courses and drew and painted constantly. Though I would draw anything, my favorite subject was people, so it was probably inevitable that I would find caricature. I have done portrait work, drawn caricatures at events of all types, and exhibited at art fairs throughout the Midwest, since 1993. My objective at live events is to make subjects smile and onlookers smile and laugh, but with, not at, the subject.
