Mel Lothrop has been a professional artist since 1966. Professional caricature artist since 1980. Caricature work includes, entertaining guests, drawing caricatures at trade shows, corporate events, open houses, company hospitality suites. Studio work includes gift caricatures for retirement and other memorable events and also turn key work on ads for national, regional, local publications and business promotions such as logo design, brochures, mailers, catalog design.
Background : Art student, military illustrator USAF, newspaper editorial artist, ad agency art director, commercial art instructor, and 20 years self employed graphic art business. 1995, Mel joined the National Caricaturist Network. He has served as vice-president of the NCN and art director for two years for the quarterly newsletter "Exaggerated Features" of the NCN. Mel ranked seventh nationally in 1996 and placed second for "Best Portfolio" in 1997.
