Drawing tourists on the inner harbour causeway of Victoria, Vancouver Island is my mainstay, as well as entertaining at conventions, parties, special events and taking on occasional illustration commissions.
Because not everyone is dying to get a caricature, I like to remind sitters that if they don't want to laugh at themselves, to at least think of their famiy and friends willing to do it for them.
I work in charcoal pencil and absolutely love the process of shading, using a papery medical tape on the index finger that allows rapid tone development in a fun and very direct finger-painting technique.
