BAHAR  MOVAHED BASHIRI

Biography:
Born on March 27, 1979, in Tehran, Iran. Under supervision of a gynecologist father
who emphasized on the need for a solid education and an artist mother who focused on her artistic abilities, Bahar grew up to be both a dentist and a caricaturist!
In 1994, she became fascinated by the art of caricature and has been working in that field for over 10 years. In 1997, she started cooperating with different publications such as "Humor and Caricature" magazine, %u201CGozaresh-E-Film%u201D (Film Report) magazine and "Zan" (Women) newspaper. She usually works in different styles but her enthusiasm is for the method of pointing with Rapid and Ink. She participated in "Tolentino International Biennial Cartoon exhibition" and "Tehran International Biennial Cartoon exhibition" both in 1999 & 2001. In 2000, a private exhibition of her works was held in "Iran House of cartoon". During the same year, she published a collection of her portrait caricatures named "Noghte Sare Khat"
(Dot at the Beginning of Line). In the year 2003 she received honorary diploma and the special medal at the 22nd Tolentino international cartoon competition in Italy, in the Luigi Mari section. And also she won the special prize in the international IACC china festival in 2004. Bahar has co-operated with different magazines and newspapers till now. Although she considers herself a dentist and spends much of her time working as one, Bahar continues to admire art, specially drawing caricatures in her spare time, and with increasing her experiences, she is willing to approach the so called "maturity of an artist ..."
